Lab 3.4
Kaceys Lab
The lab we did for Bio 3.4 or in simpler terms, natural selection
was pretty fun! It was a test to see which “bean-eater” would become extinct and
which one would thrive in its habitat based upon all the different types of
beaks!
Materials
Cup of beans
Plate
Spoon
Fork
Clothes pin
Tweezers
Popsicle stick
Procedure
Get your cup of beans and put the cup on the plate.
You will have different time intervals to get only one bean per time out of the cup and onto the plate.
The time intervals will be 45 seconds, 30 seconds, and 15 seconds.
The only catch is that you have to have at least twenty beans each time trial to stay alive!
*This is a great lab to do! Personally I loved the competition with my classmates and really explained how natural selection really worked!*
